A garnet-coloured wine, with aromas reminiscent of dark fruit, and notes of jam due to the lengthy period of maturation. Dense, well-structured and full on the palate, with the presence of soft tannins. A finish that is extremely pleasant, long-lasting and persistent.

Over 40 years old vineyards of the 'Castelão' variety and younger vinyards of the 'Touriga Nacional', 'Syrah' and 'Cabernet Sauvignon' varieties in Fernando Pó, Palmela on sandy soil in mediterranean climate. Fermentation in stainless steel, temperature controlled vats, followed by a 10 day period of extended maceration. Matured for 4 months in French and American oak half barrels.
Recommended storage time is 4 years. A good choice to serve with meat dishes. Goes particularly well with game. Equally good served with strong cheeses.
